November 2016: My Month In Review | Wrap-Up & Highlights

Hey everyone! Gosh, it’s been two months since I wrote one of these…I was really happy because I wrote one every month for over a year but I broke my streak last month. Anyways, I decided I NEEDED to write this post because November was a very…weird month for me.

what’s been happening in my [real] life?

Not gonna lie, November really sucked. It was a really ratchet month, if I have to use that word. The first two weeks of November…I failed every single test I took, Donald Trump was elected, and it was hell. I really hated it. And then my friend and I decided we needed to be positive, and things actually started getting better. It was still a hard month for me in the end because of some personal issues, but at least it got better, right?

As a side note, school is killing me even more. I didn’t even think that was possible, but apparently it is. I literally had 15 quizzes and 5 tests plus countless homework assignments and essays in 18 days. I only went to school for 18 days and all that! You can say I’m drowning in work.

what’s been happening on my blog?

…Yikes. I just want to leave it at that, because this month was quite possibly the worst month of blogging and views I’ve had in over a year. I know it’s my fault for not blogging, but at the same time school ate up all my time and when it didn’t I chose to read rather than to blog. And so, here are the minimal blog posts I wrote this month:

what about bookish updates/wrap-ups?

One VERY good thing about this month was that I read OVER three books in a school month! I know it’s not actually a lot, but start of sophomore year I only read a book per month and even last year I was reading at most two books throughout the school year. So to read 3.5 books is a big deal for me, and the books I read were good too.

  1. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins–3.5 stars. Review here.
  2. The Midnight Star by Marie Lu–4 stars. Review here.
  3. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini–5 AMAZING STARS.

Obviously, my favorite is A Thousand Splendid Suns..and not only that, but it’s also one of my favorite books. I haven’t talked about it on here yet but I hope to write something about why I loved it so much. It’s so so so amazing guys. (I read it it ONE day! Which has never happened to me before–especially without forcing myself. I did not expect to love it as much as I did. PLEASE READ IT.)

november highlights

Definitely A Thousand Splendid Suns. Another highlight I guess would be that my friend and I are trying to be positive, and it’s working! This month was not really eventful in the interesting sense (I didn’t do anything special) so right now I can’t think of anything else.

Thanks for reading guys! What were YOUR favorite books (or anything!) of November? Let’s talk!!
