Books I’d Love To Read in June

Hi guys!

As the school year starts to end a little (well, three weeks but still…) I want to make sure I read a bit more than usual. My goal for June is to read at least three books, which may sound little, but considering the fact that I’ve read a book a month this whole year–it’s a lot.

First, I want to finish A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, which I actually only have 200 pages left of.

(By the way: it’s real good. I’m loving it, obviously.)

The second book I MUST read is Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare–this is probably my most anticipated read of the year and I just. Can’t. Wait. I know it’s already been released, but I need to buy it and make sure I can read it without any distractions.

The other books on this list I know I won’t get to ALL, but I’d love to pick them up.

One of these books is Saints and Misfits by S.K. Ali–a book about a Muslim-American (like me!) This is the first book that I can think of right now that is about a Muslim American teenager, and I think it’s super important for books like this to be published considering…everything. It seems really cute but also meaningful, so I’m hoping it doesn’t disappoint!

Another is When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon–which is also a contemporary with diverse characters. I really miss reading contemporary books that are light and fun, since lately I’ve been reading only fantasy.

Finally, I want to read Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han. This is one of my favorite contemporary series ever–the cuteness, the characters, everything. I started reading it in 8th grade and I can’t wait (or can I?…) to see how everything wraps up. It’s going to be bittersweet but I know I’m going to enjoy it. :’)

I know I won’t get to all of these, but hopefully sometime during the summer I will.

Thanks for reading guys! What books are you excited about this month? Let me know–I’d love some recommendations!

July TBR!

Hey guys! So this is going to be a pre-written post because I’ll be traveling (probably on the airplane) when you’re reading this, but hope you enjoy! I’m leaving for Turkey for three weeks, so I don’t know how much time I’ll have to read. It really depends, haha.

Anyway, here are the books I’m planning on reading:

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been waiting for this book for two years and I am SO excited because it’s about the Ottoman Empire, something I’ve never read about in YA before ❤

I feel like this one would be an easy, fun read  while also traveling. Its really short, and even though I couldn’t buy a physical copy I’m really excited!

Again: easy, fun read. Even though I heard really bad things about this book, I just want to try it out haha 🙂

Do you see the theme I’m getting at?? But yea: I’ve wanted to read this book for two years, and I think it’s about time now.

Those are plenty of books, but if I somehow do end up finishing them, then I’m going to read; and maybe I’ll pick up the fourth book of HP who knows 🙂

And that’s it for this post! I know it was kind of short but I’m in a bit of a hurry, sorry about that. Which books are YOU excited to read in July?

TBR Tag!

I’m sorry. I’m doing another tag. But if you know me, you know I love tags. And plus, this one’s about my infinite TBR! Anyways, let’s get into it. 🙂 Also, I don’t really know who created this tag, sorry about that!

1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Whenever I see a book I want to read, I directly search it up and add it to my Goodreads to-read pile. That’s where I check every time I want to read or buy a book! I also sometimes empty some books off of my Goodreads shelves to get rid of books I no longer want to read.

2. Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

Mostly print. The thing is, I like e-books, but since I barely have time to read, I’ve only been reading books I’ve bought, and all of those are in print. I only read e-books when I’m traveling and even then I’d much rather read in print.

3. A B14061957ook That’s Been On Your TBR List The Longest

I checked Goodreads for this, and the oldest book there is Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo! According to Goodreads, I added it June 22nd, 2014. (No worries, though. Hopefully I’ll be reading it soon!)

4. A Book You Recently Added To Your TBR

The most recent book I added to my TBR is The Way I U23546634sed To Be, by Amber Smith. I actually was browsing books at Barnes & Noble today, and I randomly just decided to read the synopsis of this book since the cover was really nice. The synopsis hooked me, and then I started reading 8 pages of it, when I realized–wow, this is already a really good book. I can’t wait to actually buy it next time!

5. A Book In Your TBR Strictly Because of Its Beautiful Cover

I usuall20969698y don’t add books to my TBR just because of the cover. I mean, I love gorgeous covers, but I also check out the reviews and see other reviewers’ opinions on them. The only case where a book is only on my TBR because of the cover is A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. I think everyone knows about this cover. And of course, the synopsis sounds cool, too, and it has gotten some good reviews, but…I’m not even that intent on reading it, and I don’t even know if I ever will. It has a lot of mixed reviews and I feel like it won’t be my cup of tea, but it still has its place on my TBR because the cover.

6. A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan on Reading.

Um. I don’t know about you, but I think this is a REALLY stupid question. Why is a book on your TBR if you’re never going to read it? None of the books on my TBR are books I never plan on reading. All of them are “to-be-read.”

7. An Unpublished Book on Your TBR That You’re Excited For17378527

Oh god. There are SO many unpublished books I’m excited for. (You can see all of the 2016 ones here.)  I’m just going to choose The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater since it’s so close to being published and I’m getting HYPED. I also just learned that Maggie is going to have an event in Alexandria the day it comes out and I’m begging my mom to go. I MUST.

8. A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone’s Read But You

*Hides* I think I’m usually pretty good at reading books everyone else has read, just because I like to see what others are talking about. Well, except Harry Potter. I haven’t finished the series yet, I’m on Book 4, but I hope to one day! (Don’t worry: I love them so much it’s just that they’re realllllyyy long)

9. A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You

I actually went through my TBR and other then HP, there aren’t any other book series everyone recommends me!

10. A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read

From books that are already released, I’m not really too desperate to be reading a certain book right now! (Since I already read Lady Midnight.)

11. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

163 books. But to be fair, about 70 of them haven’t been released yet–and that’s a lot. Probably by the time all of them are released, I’ll take some of those off of my TBR due to negative reviews or no interest in them anymore…Even though I’m reading really slowly, I’m making my way through my TBR 😉 My goal by the end of the year is to have 140 books on my TBR!

Tagging time!

I tag Becca at Becca And Books, Cherry at Read Forevermore, and Ava at Bookishness and Tea! And YOU, of course. I hope you guys liked this post. Now let’s talk about our TBRs: what’s YOUR most anticipated read on your TBR?

Spring Break TBR!

Write a TBR post.

Well, hey guys! Despite the weird entrance, I promise I’m not weird. (Just kidding. Who am I to lie? Of course I’m weird.) Anyways, this month I haven’t even finished ONE book. I mean, I’m right about to finish Snow Like Ashes but still. So I’m challenging myself: I’m going to try to finish SLA and read two more books along with it.

I believe in myself! So, without further ado, let us begin. I also hope to post every two days, at least, to make up for not posting often.

  • As I said, first I’m going to finish Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. Then, immediately after, I’m going to FINALLY start Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I know. FINALLY. I’ve been waiting for over two years and I had to wait even more because I needed to be able to binge-read this baby without stopping.

photo from my instagram, @aloofbooks

  • Then, to be honest, I don’t know what I’ll read afterwards. If I had bought Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo I would have read that, but I didn’t. And it honestly depends on my mood. If I feel like reading a contemporary, I’ll read a contemporary. If I feel like reading a fantasy, I’ll read fantasy. But right now I’m pretty sure I’ll read one of the following:

(if I decide to buy it, though. I may or may not be too broke.)

is it obvious i want to read something with a middle eastern twist to it?

(if my sister lets me borrow her copy)

or finally,

(again, assuming i have enough money to buy it when it comes out)

And that’s it for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and please let me know which of these books I should read! I’m sorry I’ve been inactive, school has continued taking over my life. Hopefully I will be a better blogger now that school is off for a week. 🙂

Books I HOPE To Read in October

Hey guys! As you probably know, I’ve been struggling in school and I haven’t had much time to read. So, although this post will have 6 books I want to read, I will probably only read 3 or 4. (Over ambitious as always, haha.) BUT I still want to read these books! 🙂

  • The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan (released October 6th) This is one of the two books on this list that I KNOW I will read this month, because Rick is my all time favorite author and I will have to wait a year for his new book to come out. Also, Rick is coming to the city where I live, and I’m hopefullly going to be able to see him for the second time! (I’m praying that my mom will agree to take me)

  • The next book that is secured on my TBR of October is The Rose Society by Marie Lu, the sequel to The Young Elites. I read TYE the last month absolutely fell in love with it. TYE does not get enough hype, and I’m hoping this sequel is just as good as the first. <333

  • Then we have…Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo! This was on my September TBR as well, but unfortunately I couldn’t get to it. However, this time I really want to read this book because Leigh Bardugo is coming to Virginia in November and I want to have read more of her books by then. 🙂

  • So I don’t know which one I will choose to read, but I want to read both of these and now that I finally own them, I can. And those two books are: The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson and The Wrath and the Dawn. See, the problem is that I want to read them both equally, but I know that I won’t have the time to read both. So we’ll see. It really depends on my mood, but who knows? Maybe I’ll end up reading both.

  • Finally, the last book I WANT to read (but I probably won’t) is Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. Again, I have the problem with time and stuff, but I also need to buy this (in hardcover) and I don’t know if I will be able to. But if I can, I really want to soon because the second book comes out this month as well! 🙂

And that’s it! Those are the books I want to read this month. If I do end up reading 6 or more books, I WILL BE SO HAPPY. I’ll be sure to let you know! What books are you most excited to read? Please let me know!

**update! I just realized I have no spooky books on this list, and that I didn’t include my book of the month for my book club. But that will be on my list as well!**

Musing Mondays : What I’m Currently Reading! | July 20, 2015

Hey guys! Today I decided to do a Musing Monday because these are always entertaining to write and they take up less time than my normal posts. If you didn’t know, A Daily Rhythm is the creator of this meme. You can learn more about it here!

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

Today I decided to talk about two quick things: what I’m currently reading and that I got approved for an arc I was looking forward to on NetGalley!

Anyways, I’m currently reading two books right now. The first one is The Catcher In The Rye by J.D Salinger (cover below) If you didn’t know, this is a popular classic that’s very easy to read. And I’m actually really enjoying it! (Especially as a classic, even though its kind of weird sometimes)

The second book I am reading is Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson! This is my third Morgan Matson book so far, and I’m loving it! I’ve been wanting to read it since its release date but I just got around to it now. Morgan Matson is a genius at writing contemporaries, I love it! ❤

The other news I’m just really excited about is that I was approved on NetGalley for the ARC of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon! This book has been getting A LOT of buzz because its supposed to be unique and cute. It comes out September 1st, but I’m lucky enough to be able to read it before! I will start it in a few days or so, after I finish the books I am currently reading. Plus, look at that gorgeous cover.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Are you able to read while in a vehicle (in motion)? Have you always been this way?

I actually read in the car a lot, whenever I get the chance! I don’t know when I started reading in a vehicle, but throughout the years I think I got used to it and I like reading in the car just because I can spend my time more efficiently. Sometimes my head hurts when I look down too much, but if I’m feeling good, then its totally fine!

That’s it for todays MM! What are you currently reading? Leave a link to your MM down below so I can check it out! 🙂
